Step into The Rustic Daisy Barn and you’ll feel it immediately this isn’t just a wedding venue. It’s a place rooted in real story and real transformation. The Rustic Daisy history is more than a timeline it’s a journey from dairy farm to dream space, filled with charm, community, and purpose.
Not long ago, this land held broken-down barns, rusted fencing, and an old cattle chute. But something about it spoke to us. What others might have passed by, we saw as a blank canvas full of soul.
This is our story. The real one. The vision, the setbacks, the late-night dreams and the promise we made to create a space where other people’s love stories could come to life.

Rustic Daisy History: From Dairy Farm to Vision

We didn’t find this land by accident.
Curtis discovered the property on the way to a basketball game. “It reminded me of where I grew up out in Eastern Idaho,” he said. “It had the character. The trees. The space. It felt like more than just a plot of land.”
Once a dairy farm, the property still carried the bones of its former life. You could see feed troughs, vintage equipment, and one weathered barn. “I’m all about the old stuff,” Codi shared. “That barn, the machinery, even the old feed panels, they were all cool to me. I didn’t want to tear anything down unless we had to. I wanted to preserve what we could.”
At first, we tried restoring the original barn even salvaging wood from it. However, it quickly became clear the structure couldn’t safely host events. So, we pivoted. Rather than restore what was beyond saving, we designed something new that would carry the same spirit.
💡 Codi walks through the original barn and shares her love for the old dairy farm details in this early video journal:
See the property before the transformation.
We tried restoring the original barn. Truly. We even salvaged wood from it. But the deeper we got into the restoration, the more we realized it wasn’t safe. It couldn’t hold the kind of gatherings we were envisioning.
So we did the next best thing: we built new but poured every ounce of the past into its bones.

Balancing Rustic Charm with Modern Comfort

Balancing rustic texture with modern ease isn’t easy, but it was our vision from day one.
Curtis explained it best: “We wanted something that felt brand new, but still had charm. Rustic on the outside, elegant on the inside.” That duality shaped every decision from the wide-beamed cathedral windows to the clean lines and ADA-accessible layout.
From the exterior, The Rustic Daisy looks like a barn. However, step inside and you’ll find comfort, light, and thoughtful features that support every part of your day.
There’s temperature control for all seasons. Ample parking. A fully-equipped prep kitchen that planners and caterers rave about. And a flow that allows your ceremony to seamlessly move into dancing without moving your guests an inch.
Naming the Space: Why Rustic? Why Daisy?
The name wasn’t chosen for trend it was chosen for meaning.
“Rustic” reflects the land, the old tin barn, and the textures that inspired our build. “Daisy” came from our own wedding. “I’ve always loved daisies,” said Codi. “They’re simple but strong. Feminine and bright. They bloom where they’re planted and that just felt right.”
Curtis added, “We tossed around a few names, but this one stuck. It felt like something our family could build around. Something we’d be proud to hand down.”

More Than Weddings: A Space for Community

While we built The Rustic Daisy with weddings in mind, we quickly realized the space wanted to be more. And truthfully, our community showed us that.
“We’ve had craft markets, small business events, even community meetings here,” Curtis shared. “It’s been incredible to see how people make this place their own.”
From toddlers playing tag on the lawn to grandparents sharing stories under the lights, the barn has become a gathering place in the most heartfelt sense. A backdrop not just for vows, but for connection.
And that’s what we always hoped for a space that didn’t belong to just one kind of event or one type of person, but a place that opened its doors wide and said, “Come in. You’re welcome here.”

Lessons from Rustic Daisy History: What We Learned
We could write a whole book on this part. (And who knows? Maybe we will one day.)
The truth is, building something like this takes more than vision.
“We didn’t know what the dream would fully look like,” Curtis said. “But we knew it was worth chasing. And now we want to share what we’ve learned so others know what’s possible.”
From contractor mishaps to construction delays to moments where we genuinely thought about quitting, it all led to something we’re proud to stand in.
Looking back, we realize Rustic Daisy history isn’t just about the build. It’s about grit, grace, and learning to lead with heart even when things got hard.
